Peaceful Sleep

Death,

It is such a vast thing.

Death could be a peaceful sleep,

like lying on the beach,

listening to the sounds of the waves,

smash into the sand,

but it could also be a painful torment,

like a phantom's venom

with flames tall till the skies,

but down here on earth,

where loved ones lie awake,

in the dark of night,

crying their fallen angels,

up in the heavens.

But Death eats the living

from the inside, they try and try to

stitch everything together again,

piece by piece. But it does not work,

Yet they keep on going,

Only hoping that one day they'll meet again in a peaceful sleep or a painful torment.

And as we lie awake in our beds, at the peak of night's darkness, we only hope that our loved ones get all the pleasure and riches they deserve, for all the pain they were thrown throughout their lifespan.

They deserve peace, they deserve love, did they get it? did they not?

May they rest forever

in peace.

🤍
